Arthur has many years’ experience in both corporate strategy advisory and implementation for a wide range of organisations large and small in the corporate, government and charity sectors. His 30 year professional career has been focused entirely on the customer value proposition and building customer relationships.

With 30 years’ experience in financial services Arthur has developed a keen sense of what makes business tick. Through VMG he has developed a diagnostic tool that rates companies and identifies the pathways to stronger performance.

Arthur has held very senior roles in some of Australia’s leading companies, offering a broad range of experiences to draw on when considering the circumstances confronting your particular business at any time. His most recent work at PsaltGroup has focused entirely on optimising the potential of his clients

  • Mining and infrastructure investment taken from concept to fully funded
  • Professional services firm restructure and merger
  • $40m specialist steel prefabrication turnaround
  • Advice to the NSW Govt on legacy property assets
  • Optimisation program of a $2b property portfolio in the not for profit sector

Some of his posts prior to setting up PsaltGroup include:

  • Driving NAB Group’s equity markets strategy to optimise the customer value proposition. This involved designing and implementing the equity markets risk management policy and procedures
  • Built NAB’s property equity and advisory (PEA) division into a $50m business over 5 years. PEA offers a full range of services including equity capital markets origination, M&A, sales, trading and research. Arthur expanded this division to undertake equity underwriting and trading in equity securities which involved varying the Bank’s AFSL. During Arthur’s time at NAB the business held a significant market position in the creation of bespoke real estate investment products and shareholder value advice in Australia with offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai. He was integral to NAB’s first corporate acquisition in China
  • Created NAB’s specialist distressed equity unit
  • Managed and built Westpac’s property funds management business to $40m during his tenure
  • Advising clients such as Ansett and Liverpool City Council while in the corporate finance division of Macquarie Property Investment Banking where he was handpicked to join a specialist unit seeding Macquarie’s expansion offshore in real estate
  • While in corporate finance at Coopers and Lybrand he advised clients such as Ansett and Liverpool City Council

Insolvency advisory services
Arthur specialised in insolvency advisory services as part of the team at Coopers and Lybrand (now PwC) during the last significant global recession, honing his skills across the intricacies of dealing with distressed companies, banks, promoters, employees, lawyers, insolvency practitioners, mercantile agents, real estate agents and consultants. Arthur has advised on a number of turnaround projects
